With the strong hands which can grab and hold firm. The hands which scoop the wealth of the native waters. Day by day. The Müritzfischer seems to be a special breed of men, because the first people settled already 8000 years B.C. here in the Müritz region. They were gatherers and fishermen. Lakes and woods were their living space. In the course of time nomads became resident people and the fishing became a main branch of industry of this region.
The time shows the present picture of the Müritzfischer. These are the same nature-loving men: straight, honest, native-tangly. The men who still get the treasures from the Müritz.
In the course of the time a lot has changed. Today this old traditional occupation is mixed with modern technologies. Still something has been preserved from the old romanticism. And that’s a good thing. The most important connection between chill technology and the past history is and will be the hot hearts of the men catching fish.
