The Fisheries Museum
Since the 6th of October, 2007 we have another highlight for you! In our fisheries museum you learn more interesting facts about the everyday work of the fishermen –
of old times and nowadays. The old fishing equipment have found here a worthy place.
It is not only documented and preserved, the knowledge is also given.
The exhibits present the general fishing as well as native animals – from the sea eagle up to the common moorhen.
54-kilogramme-preserved wels catfish is exhibited, which was pulled in 2004 by fishing master Walter Pietzak and assistants from the Gustrow Bützow channel. It is 2.14 metre long!
The insight into an old fishing cottage is very interesting as well.
